Good things do come in small packages! BE A GIANT in this miniature wonderland where nobody grows up. Established in l929 Bekonscot Model Village captures a delightful and timeless image of a lost age, depicting rural England in the l930’s. An unforgettable day out for everyone and all profits are donated to charity!
There are six charming little villages in a l.5 acre miniature landscape of farms, fields, castles, churches, woods and lakes. Walking around you’ll tower over the tiny population enjoying the fun of the fair, the zoo, or lazily watching the cricket match. Interesting buildings include castles, a Tudor house, thatched cottages, and a replica of Enid Blyton’s ‘Green Hedges’. There are also moving models, such as a coal mine, nodding donkey, and the fun fair.
Bekonscot boasts the ultimate trainset, and its historic Gauge 1 line has been famous since l929 for being one of the largest, most exciting and complex in Great Britain. The busy railway races between villages, over bridges and under your feet. There is a full-size signalbox in control of ten scale miles of track, seven stations and often more than eight trains. There is a sit-on railway running at weekends and school holidays, also remote control boats. .
We also have a refreshment kiosk, souvenirs, playground, and picnic areas, free parking, and our log cabin is a fun place to hold a child’s birthday party.
