Re-created Victorian home, set in pleasant riverside gardens, furnished with superb examples of decorative arts, including stunning Gothic bedroom containing works by William Burges. Adjoining gallery housing changing exhibitions of watercolours, prints and drawings by artists such as Gainsborough, Cotman, Turner, Burne-Jones and 20th century artists such as Sutherland, Moore, Piper and Freud.

Fascinating collection of European ceramics and glass from the Renaissance to the early 20th century, and home to the world-famous collection of Bedfordshire Maltese lace by Thomas Lester.
