Compton Verney is an award winning Art Gallery in Warwickshire.  It offers informal and enjoyable ways to experience art whatever your age or knowledge.  The gallery is housed in an 18th century Grade I listed mansion designed by Robert Adam surrounded by 120 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland.

Visitor attraction of the year 2006, the gallery houses a growing collection of significant works of art from around the world which include: paintings from the golden age of Neapolitan art; Germanic paintings and sculpture including the work of Cranach and Schongauer; British portraits featuring artists such as Sir Joshua Reynolds and a collection of Tudor portraits; the largest collection of Chinese bronzes outside London and a striking collection of terracotta horsemen; the Marx-Lambert collection of items relating to Enid Marx’s work as a textile designer and the largest collection of British Folk Art in the UK.

To complement the collections, Compton Verney presents an attractive programme of temporary exhibitions that include loans from major museums and galleries both national and international.  Past exhibitions have included works by Peter Greenaway, Van Gogh, Francis Bacon, Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, Salvator Rosa, Paula Rego Luc Tuymans and Susan Hiller.
