Adlington Hall online: information and bookings

The home of the Leghs of Adlington since 1315, Adlington Hall was built on the site of a hunting lodge dating from 1040, the carved oak tree supports of which still form part of the medieval Great Hall. The 17th century organ which sits between the trees was built in the style of “Father” Bernard Smith. The most important instrument of its era in the country, it was played by Handel during one of his visits to the Hall.

The Gardens were landscaped in the style of Capability Brown in the mid 18th century. A Lime Avenue dating from 1688 leads to the Wilderness with its delightful riverside walks past bridges and follies. Visitors can explore herbaceous and woodland borders, the traditional English rose garden and, beyond it, take on the challenge of the yew maze with its secret hidden at the centre. Most recent additions to this developing garden include the beautiful Father Tiber Garden with its rills, fountains and streams, and a penstemon garden.

WEDDINGS IN MACCLESFIELD, CHESHIRE
When it comes to selecting a venue for corporate hospitality, ambience is all important.

At Adlington Hall, we believe we offer the corporate event organiser one of England's most attractive historic venues, which lends itself to a broad spectrum of different activities.

Set in the heart of the glorious Cheshire countryside, Adlington Hall is the very epitome of the English country house, with a 'black and white' Tudor East Wing, an Elizabethan South and West Wing, beautiful 18th century landscaped gardens and a magnificent Great Hall.
