Tatton Park is one of Britain’s most comprehensive historic estates. The 1,000 acres of parkland has been home to herds of deer since the 13th century. The two meres, or lakes, attract a diversity of birdlife each season making Tatton an ideal spot for wildlife enthusiasts.

Mansion: The stunning Neo-Classical Mansion encompasses lavish staterooms and family memorabilia with original furnishings and furniture by Gillows of Lancaster and masterpieces by Canaletto and Van Dyck. The Victorian Kitchens and servants’ quarters give visitors a contrasting glimpse of domestic life.

Gardens: The 50 acres of gardens are rated amongst the best in the country. Notable features include the Japanese Garden, regarded as one of the finest in Europe, the Italian, and Rose gardens together with the recently restored Walled Kitchen Garden and orchard highlighting the importance of traditional skills and processes.

Farm: Virtually untouched since the 1930s. It is still an authentic working farm that uses traditional farming methods with rare breeds of farm animals.

Old Hall: Originally a typical medieval manor house which has been altered and extended over the years. Its rooms have been restored to different periods and a guided tour will take visitors from the smoky shadows of Medieval England, through the Stuart and Victorian periods to the 1950s.

The Adventure Playground is located next to the car park and is ideal for children of all ages.

Retail therapy is catered for at Tatton Gifts, The Housekeeper’s Store and the Garden shop which sell a variety of produce and unusual gifts.

Tatton Park is managed and financed by Cheshire County Council on behalf of the National Trust.
