Situated within the charming hamlet of Chatham Green in the very heart of rural Essex yet only 10 minutes from Braintree and Chelmsford and 15 to Stansted the Windmill Inn offers our visitors a unique opportunity for a relaxing stay whether it be on business or pleasure. We have 5 double and 2 twin rooms each comfortably furnished and decorated in a farmhouse style. All have en-suite shower and toilet, coloured television and tea and coffee making facilities. Also free WIFI throughout. Four of the rooms are built within the original roundhouse base of the windmill. The remaining rooms are located in the stable block and have been constructed using the existing 19th century hand made bricks. Visitors with wheelchairs are welcomed with 2 of our rooms offering ground floor access and facilities. Accommodation includes continental breakfast enjoyed in the privacy of your own room. A stoness throw from the Inn lies The Essex Way, a footpath that runs from Epping to Harwich and is a popular route with walkers and ramblers. We are also less than 5 mins from the new Great Leighs Race Course.You can also relax in the secluded guests garden or explore the many surrounding villages and hamlets. Our bar has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and in our restaurant you can enjoy a large selection of home cooked meals, light lunches and chefs specials
