Waddesdon Manor, nr Aylesbury
A county known for the Beechwoods that cover it, Buckinghamshire is well placed for exploring East Anglia and Southern England, Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds and is only a short drive to London’s city centre. The wonderfully rolling Chiltern hills provide a major attraction for those that stay here and walking is a highly recommended past time.
The south of Buckinghamshire has some glorious countryside and is home to the towns of High Wycombe in the centre of The Chilterns, Beaconsfield, Marlow and Amersham.
Go north and you will travel through Aylesbury Vale with its enchanting villages, market towns and magnificent country houses.
Attractions abound from Bekonscot Model Village and the Chiltern Open Air Museum to the splendour and opulence of Waddesdon Manor (another home of the Rothschild family) just outside Aylesbury. There are many National Trust properties too including Stowe and Cliveden.
